Jerome Thiebault created a polished and petite bathroom complete with storage and a shower. Troweled cement plaster was applied to the walls, and handcrafted Zia tile adds pattern to the floor. This success story, built on craftsmanship, experimentation and precious materials, began in the sixties and was the brainchild of its founder, Alberto Vignatelli. Maria Videla-Juniel turned the primary bath into a sumptuous retreat with hues of soft blue and brown. Thibaut wall coverings and fabrics were used for the walls and windows, and the elegant shagreen-covered vanities are accented with gleaming fixtures by P.E.
Custom furniture, lighting and artwork are essential elements of Avenue Interior Design’s work and the studio parlays this passion into highly marketable and much sought after product design and brand partnerships. After earning a degree in Merchandise Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, Dana became an operations and account manager at high-end women’s activewear line Splits59. She later relocated to New York to further her career at James Perse, where she played a pivotal role in opening their Madison Avenue Flagship before becoming the manager of their SoHo location.

So, one day in 2018 it was my turn…“I need you to quit your job”, I told him as he walked in the door. That’s when he left his corporate career in high tech (and regular paychecks for a while) and he joined me in running DSI & The Shop; while simultaneously launching Right Way Receiving Co. We all have individual talents that we have learned to layer together, resulting in the stunning portfolio of work we share.
“Pair it with wood tones for warmth and color for a playful touch,” offers the founder of Memmo Interiors, who notes that aluminum can have the tendency to appear cold if not styled thoughtfully. “Adding upholstered cushions, using one of the many outdoor fabrics now available, gives you all the comfort of indoor furnishings and seamlessly extends your design style outdoors,” says designer Pamela Nast. Designers Frank Slesinski and Serena Brosio collaborated on the charming living room in the Gatehouse. “One of the main things we did was add a window seat, which looks like it should always have been here,” Slesinski says. “Our whole goal with this space was basically to turn the lights on in the room, bring in the garden that’s outside, and kind of have an experience of a breath of fresh air,” Brosio says.
Jennifer practiced for more than a decade as a commercial real estate lawyer with an expertise in resort and golf properties. While working on trophy properties across the U.S., she realized she was fascinated by the design of hotels, so she obtained her Professional Certificate from the UCLA Extension Architecture and Interior Design program. DeRosa and Manhan founded Avenue Interior Design in 2009, initially positioning the studio as a tiny hospitality-based powerhouse in Venice. Now headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles, the studio has expanded its interior services to include commercial, multi-family and residential projects. The co-founders lead a diverse, multidisciplinary team that is constantly expanding. Below, tour the inspiring rooms and outdoor spaces of the 2024 Pasadena Showcase House of Design. The landmark mansion was built in 1902 by architect Joseph J. Blick for Gertrude Potter Daniels, who paid $15,000 for the shingle-style home. In 1905, Susanna Bransford Emery-Holmes—known as the Silver Queen thanks to the source of her late husband’s fortune—purchased the home and soon made it her own. In 1922, she spent $37,000 to have the Postle Company of Los Angeles, who also built the Pasadena Playhouse, remodel it into an English Tudor Revival–style mansion, giving it the regal exterior that remains today.
With a sophisticated and delicate style, the store is always up to date and its designers have a clearly defined purpose of offering the most inspiring and interesting pieces. The interior design studio & shop was founded in 2012 by Mathew Sanders and Brandon Quattrone and soon became a well-known shop, not only in Los Angeles but also in New York. Designer Rachel Scheff used the home’s spectacular ceiling, woodwork, and stained glass as the inspirations for her fanciful, flora- and fauna-filled foyer. “It was one of my favorite rooms in the house because it was the one that had the most history preserved, and I wanted to really celebrate that,” she told AD PRO. For her Foyer of Enchantment, Scheff installed a custom mural by Hattas Art Studios, a John Richard chandelier dripping with glass leaves, a silk wall covering by Aux Abris, and organic furniture created with Amorph Studio. “I wanted you to feel like you were transported to another time and place,” Scheff says.
And interior designers agree that aluminum is most definitely having a moment this year. Hand-painted floors were the jumping-off point for designer Amy Peltier’s soothing primary bedroom design. “It was so much work, but it turned out beautiful.” The firm wanted the space to feel “light and airy and breezy,” and incorporated fabrics and wall coverings by Thibaut in a soft color palette.
